Our Vision
A world where gender considerations are understood as an integral part of security and individuals, regardless of gender identity and sex, can meaningfully engage in and contribute to the field of international security as practitioners, scholars and/or policymakers.
WIIS-A is devoted to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. WIIS-A pursues these values by supporting women and gender diverse individuals who work or want to work in the field of international security broadly understood. We strive to be a leading force in applying a gender sensitive lens to the problems and practice of international security while, at the same time, ensuring the field of international security is representative of all gender identities. As part of this, WIIS-A affirms its commitment to academic freedom, research integrity, collaboration, and ethical behaviour in the conduct of international security.
